Master Sergeant, Air Force
SERVICE: 19 years

Veterans have one thing in common and that is sense of community. As an active duty Master Sergeant with 19 years of service in the United States Air Force, Angela saw her fair share of deployments and temporary duty assignments and that kept her away from her family, community, and comrades in arm.  She says being away made her stronger, because it taught her that distance didn’t have to hinder her ability to connect to a community.

Angela joined Team Red, White and Blue in 2014. She became the Athletics Director for the Sacramento Chapter and is now the GO RUCK Coordinator for the Honolulu Chapter. Team Red, White and Blue helped her remain connected to her “veteran family” and supporters every day and everywhere.

I’ve worked a few projects for the Sacramento RWB Chapter that required coordination with race directors and/or sponsors. It was important to have our civilian workforce be involved to bridge the gap between military members.

I didn't have it in me to go to career fairs. Onward to Opportunity taught me how to get out there and just talk and network.
