Bill Gates, Sr. was a man of unimpeachable character who helped shape Seattle in ways known and unknown. Many of us who built careers, companies and philanthropies in this city have long considered Bill Sr. a role model for how to lead as well as live with dignity, humility and generosity of spirit.
