Tien is the communications associate with the Schultz Family Foundation.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Tien worked as a behavioral health case manager with Mental Health Kokua. In this role she managed a caseload of 20 clients with severe and persistent mental illness (i.e. schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder), current of previous houselessness, and substance abuse.
Tien has also worked as a design and outreach assistant with Albizia Project, an organization focused on developing innovative uses for invasive albizia and supporting native ecosystem restoration across the Hawaiian Islands. In this role Tien assisted with grant writing, project management and design work. Tien’s previously held positions instilled a passion for participating in work that enacts systemic change in order to support underserved communities.
Tien graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Studio Art.
