Marty Hartman is the newly appointed King County social impact entrepreneur at the Schultz Family Foundation, working to identify, shape, and support services to vulnerable families and young adults. She brings her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to social justice to the Schultz Family Foundation, where she continues to advocate for vulnerable populations and work towards systemic change.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Marty led Mary’s Place for 24 years. She is known as a strong and convincing advocate working alongside women and families experiencing homelessness. Along with many community partners and donors, they worked together to secure funding and loaned-properties to open and operate several emergency family shelters in King County to ensure no child sleeps outside. This community-driven solution has provided over 1.5 million shelter nights, over 6 million meals, and offered housing, outreach services, prevention resources, and a whole lotta love to thousands more of our neighbors.
Marty had the opportunity to work beside the Schultz Family Foundation at Mary’s Place and witnessed their genuine love for the neighbors in their hometown. Together, the two teams piloted projects with innovative strategies that informed best practices that continue to be shared with family shelter providers across our nation.
Marty’s greatest joys are spending time with her husband, 4 kids/partners, 10 grands, and all the puppies too!
