Leading the Charge: Youth-Powered Solutions for Mental Health
May 20, 2025

Our nation faces an unprecedented youth mental health crisis, with one-third of high school students reporting persistent feelings of hopelessness and more than 122 million Americans living in regions that have a severe shortage of mental health professionals. The growing influence of social media further impacts the emotional well-being of our youth.
To address this critical moment, the Youth Mental Health Corps – a pioneering national service initiative launched by the Schultz Family Foundation and Pinterest – is recruiting, training, and mobilizing young adults to directly tackle these pressing issues.
This May, during National Mental Health Awareness Month and the first anniversary of the Youth Mental Health Corps, we facilitated an essential conversation about youth mental health and the transformative power of national service. Check it out.
