Living our values by not being a bystander

In times of immediate need, the Schultz Family Foundation is quick to respond. We make grants to organizations working on the frontlines of disaster relief and in other moments of crisis.

The extraordinary campaign to welcome refugees

As Afghans who fled the Taliban arrived in cities and towns across the United States, legions of Americans stepped up to welcome this wave of refugees and help them build new lives away from war. We showcase two efforts by the Welcome to America Project in Arizona and Welcome Neighbor in St. Louis. The Schultz Family Foundation is proud to support this remarkable humanitarian endeavor through the Mobilizing America for Refugees Fund, which we launched in December 2021 in partnership with the Stand Together Foundation, Starbucks Foundation, Welcome.US and Hello Neighbor.

“Turning Fear into Hope”: How this organization is helping refugees

The Welcome to America Project (WTAP) in Tempe, Arizona supports newly-arrived refugee , providing a warm welcome, a sense of community as well as key essentials for settling into their new homes. WTAP volunteers are contracted with Home Sweet Home so that new families can “shop” for their own donated furniture. WTAP then organizes “Saturday Welcomes,” which bring together volunteers with varied lived experiences, including other refugees, to help load furniture and other household goods from the WTAP warehouse and deliver them to the homes of the families who have just arrived.
